Mark Prime was born August 27, 1813 in Biddleford, Maine. He was an Assistant Quartermaster for the United States Army stationed in New Orleans, La., from 1862-1863. He was honorably discharged from the Army at the rank of captain in July 1863. His civilian trade was as a machinist.
